Calne (Saturday 12th September 2020)

This is the swan that still hangs out in The Wharf, alongside the A4 in the town centre. I don't know if there is a locally accepted name for this swan but as I have been blipping it quite regularly perhaps I should give it a name of my own. I last blipped it nine days ago, and I suppose it may be becoming a stand-in for Smokey. I did take some non-swan pictures, all in the album linked below, but this was my preferred shot.

R.I.P. Frederick 'Toots' Hibbert (8 December 1942, May Pen, Colony of Jamaica - 12 September 2020, Kingston, Jamaica)
Toots and the Maytals were one of Jamaica's biggest reggae acts, indeed the term 'reggae' stems from their single Do The Reggay. Best known for Monkey Man and Pressure Drop which were both covered by the Specials and the Clash, and of course 54-46 Was My Number, about his imprisonment for smoking ganga, but I have instead chosen his contribution for the reggae Dylan tribute album Is It Rolling, Bob?
My copy was sent to me by Liz Kershaw as a prize on her Sunday 6 Music radio show some years ago.
