LOOK WHO CAME TO VISIT

This is the 3 month old son of a former student. Actually, I had her father as a student back in the day as well. She stopped by today to introduce us to her new son, swaddled, as it were, in the afghan blanket Jan made for him. He's into blowing bubbles and he's very good at it.

Teachers who have been around for as long as I have get to know students and their families very well. If you checked the present high school population you'd find that for 50% or more of them I had one or both of their parents as students. There's even several grandparents I had in class.

I find it immensely rewarding that students come to visit us even many years after their graduation. And especially true when they bring along their babies. It's a trust I hold sacred.
