Iguana in Isla Margarita

Raphael, our boatman and guide through the mangrove swamp put his hand in the water and pulled out some wildlife for our inspection: seahorse, starfish, crabs.

We spotted this iguana nestling amongst some branches in the Laguna de la Restinga National Park.

Margarita island,off the coast of Venuzuela, is the closest to South America that we get. Half hour by plane from Caracas it has become a gated holiday home community for wealthy Venuzuelans though none of this has filtered down to local people.
