Grapes

We inherited this vine and with pruning it’s now full of grapes. At a guess I’d say they are Sangiovese. I’ve planted more of this local Tuscan grape, and Merlot. After much puzzling I’ve worked out most of the vines on the pergola planted by us three years ago are a table grape called Pizzuletto - they make a long slightly curved table grape and unfortunately need six treatments of copper sulphate and sulphur per season. We inherited some white strawberry grape vines - small bunches of exotic almost lychee like flesh but full of seeds and sharp sour skinned.

We made 12 litres more of passata today. That’s about 40 litres in total. Made from a variety of plum, mini-plum, beefsteak and oval and cherry tomatoes. More tomatoes to process tomorrow.
