Drying the hay

It has been a beautiful late summer day and we enjoyed a very leisurely walk by the side of the fields and hedgerows from Pye Flatts Fields towards Silkstone. Pye FLatts Fields are a preserved site of Scientific Interest for the natural habit and wild flowers. The grass has been cut and the farmer was turning the hay to dry in the sun. The smell from the hay and other plants was wonderfully invigorating. We also picked blackberries which were growing abundantly in the hedgerows, along with other autumn fruits.
