Sweet peas
Such a lot of them, all ready at the same time! Have given some away and we have a couple of vases / jugs of them about the place, but if you stop cutting them and they set seeds, they won't produce any more flowers, which would be a shame.
The weight of them has caused the wigwams to develop quite a lean in the recent windy spells! The sweet peas have entangled themselves round their neighbours too, so getting between the raised beds is pretty tricky!
The fronds of bronze fennel, the lavender which has formed a huge clump this summer, the edging of chives, the peas which have been delicious, but are just about over, are all adding to the jungly effect. There is a lot of sappy green growth with the warm dampness we've had recently but the last few days have been decidedly autumnal and my thoughts are turning to boots and tights and long skirts! Away with the T shirts and shorts till next year!
