A stress free journey up the M5 and M6 but we left the warm sunshine behind in the Westcountry.
A dull, damp and very busy Lake District but we joined the queues through Ambleside and headed out to the Langdale Valley.
This landscape always lifts our spirits.

We couldn't visit this area without calling in to Chesters. Just a takeaway this time but we were in famous company. Alan Hanson was also queueing for his lunch.

Out in the evening for a birthday dinner at The Wheatsheaf in Brigsteer.
Superb food and a nice bottle of wine.
