Greetwell Quarry
After a leisurely morning doing hobby stuff and watching Aussie Rugby League on TV, we had lunch then took a drive over to Greetwell Quarry to take a few photos. There were still several butterflies around there, which was good to see. I decided to go with the scenery shot as I love the clouds!
Some interesting plants too - does anyone know what that is in my extra? We were unsure whether the pink things were flowers or berries to begin with, but they are hard berries - or some other type of fruit. They feel like apple but are a very different shape. Not knowing what they are I didn't risk tasting them! Neither Bri nor I have ever seen them before.
Once home it was almost time for some Superleague Rugby - Catalans Dragons v Wigan Warriors over in Perpignan for the first time since lockdown. In France limited numbers of fans are allowed in to the stadiums now, and there was crowd of 5000 in attendance! I'd thought Catalans being back on home turf and having their fans cheering them on would make for a tough game for the Warriors but I'm happy to say that they won 28 - 10. A very welcome victory after last weeks' shellacking at the hands of the team at the bottom of the table!
Soon it will be time for a film and a glass of wine!
Jeri is taking part in her second 100 mile race in two weeks! She doubts she will get all the way round but she's got halfway already, and even if she doesn't finish, running 50 miles just a week after running 100 miles is still a staggering achievement! She is having a well-earned rest next week!!
