A long day
Its been a long day... The girls are exhausted and rather than just spending a day relaxing and resting, they still wanted to play and do crafts and wouldn't sit and quietly watch a movie like I tried to encourage them to do, they were so easily upset and rowed with each other on and off all day.
Ivy wet the bed last night and because I still dont have a washing machine I took the sheets and duvet to Michelle's to wash in hers. As we arrived the icecream man pulled up so there was a short interlude of cheerfulness while they and their cousins and filled their tummys with ice-cream.
The electrician came back today and did the second fix on the kitchen. The oven is in and looks good. The diswasher and washing machine are also now plugged and plumbed in but the seal on the new waste pipe needed 24 hours to dry.
John borrowed a tool from our friend and drilled a huge hole through the kitchen wall and then through the cavity wall for the extractor fan! He did that while we were out and said probably a good thing as it was so noisy! He has work so hard this last 2 weeks, I've told him he needs a rest tomorrow before going back to work.
Feeling a little anxious with the covid numbers beginning to increase. What with Ivy at school, Bea at preschool, both at the childminders and both starting back at ballet and swimming, John and I both at work - we are exposed to so many people and it concerns me. I feel a little like we were back in late Feb / early March, when I was reading too much news and worrying about it then, as I am again now.
