A Tiny Garden in NE Wales

Tortoiseshell

A couple of years ago I bought 2 Daphne plants from our local Aldi. Planted them in our new box area in the garden and they looked great.

That winter was particularly harsh and hit the Daphne hard. I pruned the one hard but the other one looked dead. A tiny bit of stem was all that was left. I dug it up and put it in a small pot and put it in our recovery area for sick and ailing plants.

This year it has gone mad, loads of new growth and so many gorgeous flowers attracting all the pollinators but especially Small Tortoiseshell butterflies.

I've repotted it into a lovely tall terracotta pot and it looks amazing. So much so I'm thinking I need to sort the other one out now.
