Filling the Cracks
We're trying not to do too much to tart the house up for sale, but I noticed the other day that this window sill was looking rather untidy, with flaking paint (Dulux Weathershield). I reckon it's done a good five years and it gets the sun and the traffic fumes to do the damage, perhaps.
So I wire-brushed it and painted over the cracks; the wood is sound, but it has dried out so I hoped to fill the cracks with repeated applications of the paint. It was quite thin paint but it has improved the appearance somewhat.
Of course, now the other window sill, on the ground floor, will look less attractive, so I might have given myself the job of re-painting that sill; but then I'll have to do the whole frame . . .
