In and out

This is outside Appleby Health Centre in the car park. It seems to be a bit of wall incorporating the Appleby Coat of Arms. I presume it came from the building that was here before the new centre was built, but I don’t know for certain where it has come from. I can’t say I have noticed it before, but that is probably because, on the few occasions I have visited the Health Centre, the car park has been full and it has been necessary to walk in from the centre of town or park in the Swimming Pool car park.

Today was different:

The Health Centre had been turned into a Flu Clinic (see extra) and cars were coming and going through the car park very quickly. We were phoned yesterday and offered two appointments - 10am and 10.02am.  There were no surgeries so the whole place was just a production line for flu jabs. You arrived with mask and short sleeved top. Greeted at the door and checked off, hand sanitiser and then led down the corridor and either left or right. Met at the door of a room, checked off again by a member of staff at the desk and another member of staff gave the jab. And then out by the back door. Amazing!! We didn’t think anything could work like that in Appleby. A fantastically efficient method of giving a flu jab to lots of people safely. Now if the ‘world beating’ Covid testing system could work like that!!
