"Non Non!! Ze flashing bedknobs...!!"

"Allo Allo Nighthawk, this is London Calling....!"

This photo will only make sense to anyone familiar with the 1980s BBC sitcom “Allo Allo” set in a café in rural France, run by a rather reluctant resistance couple (René and Edith Artois) during the WW2 occupation. The attic room I had at the photo workshop had this bedstead which was a dead ringer for the one occupied by Edith's mother Madame Fanny in her attic room. Whenever "London" called to speak to René the bedknobs at the foot of Madame Fanny's bed started flashing, to prompt them to raise the foot of her bed (much to her annoyance as she was always still in it) to unearth the hidden radio. I couldn't resist tweaking it a bit in Photoshop!

John has encouraged us to continue regular practice at monochrome conversions for the next several days - in the hope that we won't quickly forget all that we've learnt. So in addition to the main blip, I took some photos from Hartside Pass as I drove home and will add an extra of a moment of rather lovely light: by luck one of the rather rare laybys was at just the right spot for me to stop to take my photo.
