Through the vineyards from Chexbres
It would be impossible to show you the whole of the beautiful area along the Lavaux in less than 200 pictures, so I have to make a choice.
This is one of the steep paths we chose to walk down to reach the lake from high up in the village of Chexbres where we stayed. It takes about an hour or more to get down with photo stops.
First extra: a view from the other side of the lake, turning west towards Geneva. The village below, at the bottom of the vineyards is called Rivaz.
Coming up, after lunch in the amazing heat, must have taken us at least an hour and a half, or more, sometimes sitting on the low walls to catch our breath! We were so hot when we got back to the hotel around 4 pm that all we could do was have refreshing showers, drink masses and read before supper!
