Room with a View

So in contrast to yesterday's Victorian architecture - this is the John Hope Gateway at the botanics - opened only a few years ago and an example of some of the most contemporary architecture in the garden.

The building is named after RBGE's Regius Keeper from 1761-1786, Professor John Hope, leading botanist and teacher of his time.

The building is predominately glass, wood and stone and gives a great perspective out on to the water garden and up on to garden terraces.
