Rest and be thankful

The 'Rest and Be Thankful' is quite literally named as a place where travellers in olden days would stop, 'rest and be thankful' that they had reached the top of their steep climb, before continuing on to their destination. It is on A83 north to the Highlands. Recently it was closed due to heavy rain displacing about 6,000 tonnes of rocks. The nearby Old Military Road was opened to traffic. It is a recurring problem.
