Blue cycle path butterfly

You never know when the next graffiti artist might come along and paint over existing artwork, so today I decided to capture this butterfly while I could. It's only a couple of metres away from the yellow lady that I blipped the day before yesterday, but so different.

Today was a working day of preparing for meetings and meetings. There was some unwelcome excitement just after midday when a colleague sent an insensitive email on the basis of an incorrect assumption (AKA 'not checking email'). This was extremely distressing for one of my PhD students, who was completely innocent of the supposed misdemeanour. The trauma could all have been avoided had my colleague first asked the supervision team about the 'missing report' before firing his missive off to the poor unsuspecting student. (The report in question was sent to us all in good time last Friday, and was of a very high standard.)

After work I took to the cycle paths for an 11 mile loop bike ride out to Silverknowles and home again along the Cramond foreshore.

On and off throughout the day my sisters and I have been planning Mummy hazelh's birthday lunch on Friday. My not-so-little sister arrives tomorrow evening.

Exercise today: 11 mile bike ride.
