Snowed all day on "Carnival Tuesday" a semi unofficial half day holiday in Bavaria and Angie took the opportunity to take a half days holiday & stay at home. For the last xx years we have been at the Olching Carnival Parade but with the cold & snowy weather stayed at home.
Regretted it a bit as it's a good opportunity to meet family (Olching is Angie's home town & her parents live there).
Now just need to get through Lent helped by the traditional 5th season in Bavaria "Starkbier" time. The monks of old brewed a very strong sweet beer so as to keep their bellies filled in Lent! Alcohol level around 7% and a good "double bock" 12%!
Nigel didn't we have a Bock at the Munich "Research Brewery" a few Lents ago? They are one of the 1st to offer the beer - coming Friday if your free!
