Stitches
This was the best I could manage on a slow blip day for me. It's a section of one of the flags on a string of bunting made by Susan and hanging in our hall.
Had an exciting, prickly morning pruning the pyracantha bush which had gone wild over the pond. I had to a) avoid falling in and b) not allow any spiky cuttings to get in the pond and potentially puncture the liner.
For a little light relaxation afterward I sowed some winter salad leaves and a tray of cos lettuce for early lettuce next spring. The first time I've ever been this organised.
We called in at Susan's mum on our walk. She's not doing very well at the moment and it needing ever more care. We think the time will soon come when she will not be safe living on her own. We're not pleased with the response of her care providers when we asked for a visit to provide a meal and help to get into bed. The don't do evening meals, the latest is 3.30pm and the latest they will assist someone into bed is 9.30pm. To us, this is not meeting the needs of the individual. The service seems to be geared around what the provider is willing to offer rather than respecting the needs of the person.
We called in at the allotment for Susan to pick some of her flowers and me to water and feed the beans, courgettes and leeks. Picked another load of raspberries again.
Susan's up at her mum's now, bringing her back for dinner. (Edit: she decided not to come, so dinner was taken up to her) Thank you for hosting TinyTuesday MaryElizaR
