Just a Pinecone

The kids left around noon today but we had a full morning of games and a walk to the village for some last minute treats. As always, I felt teary and sad when they left,  so I delved into some deep cleaning and laundry, which helped me get over the quiet house. 
In the late afternoon a big windstorm developed which brought in lots of smoke from nearby wildfires. We decided to eat in rather than go out in such poor air quality.  
Grateful today for...morning and evening snuggles with the boys. Lots of fairy tales. I brought a really beautiful illustrated book I knew the boys would love and we read several fairy tales every night.
