Pancake Day

Every year for the past 40+ years I have made pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, including 1980 when I made them then called the midwife who delivered son#2 a few hours later. It's the same recipe that my mother used and for some unknown reason the same thing happens with every batch - the first and last pancakes are rubbish!
This year I have treated myself to a new pan although I doubt it will make any difference to the final outcome!
