Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Just in case....

I don't know why I need a spare of everything but I do otherwise I can work myself into a tizzy of what ifs! On the left is my original Kindle bought in 2011, it's a very basic model, no keyboard, no built in light, no touch screen or back light, but it works! On the right is the identical replacement (yes I know it's black but it's the same model!) which I managed to buy, still sealed in its original  packaging, in 2016 because I thought the first one was about to give up... it didn't! In the centre is the third, identical, one which I bought today, via Gumtree, not new but in better conditon than either of the other two. I bought it because my original fell off the bed yesterday and the page forward button on one side has jammed! The new one seems a good buy, it's unlocked, the buttons all work and the battery holds its charge.
I can't imagine being without a Kindle. I read all the time, it's my escape route! One Kindle has a lighted case and stays by my bed the other has no case so it's slimmer and fits in my handbag better and so it's always with me.
Now I have two kindles which work well and one with one of its buttons jammed, I've discovered though that I can fix the button by sliding a slip of card under it, so it's not quite dead yet.... Still, you never know, better safe than sorry. I do also have a spare case BTW  just in case anything happens to that.... I think I'm beyond help!
So today involved -
Hospital appointment to check my knee, scan being organised.
Trip to Perth to buy the Kindle - only £10 and so worth it!
Cursillo reunion group, I just got back in time. Running Ali home with her deliveries... it's Stuart's birthday tomorrow.
Tesco,
Dinner,
All About Eve........ and.....
Bed.
Enough excitement for one day.

Keep safe everybody, too many new cases being reported, I've got enough to worry about with all the Brexit nonsense without worrying about everybody's health too!

Steps today 6500 and a car journey!
