Rosenborg Slot
The Copenhagen back-blipping starts on Thursday 26th here, with a dog in a trike...
After pounding the streets yesterday we decided to see Copenhagen as the Copenhageners do and hired a couple of bikes. What an utter revelation it is riding here. I'm going to be writing about this in detail on my website, so I'm not going to bore anyone here, but it just really shows what can be done with a little will, and a touch of common sense, with a dash of understanding and willingness to try something.
We covered a load of the city this way. The Danish Design Centre was small, but interesting; this is the dinky Rosenborg Slot (Castle), home to the crown jewels, and a (bokehed) toy soldier set; tasted some of the best Danish pastry ever (light and fluffy compared to the stodge at home), before continuing the ride to Amalienborg, where the royal family live, just in time to see funny guards; looped by the 'Castle' and Little Mermaid again; before meeting the fantastic Mikael Colville-Andersen in the evening (and getting a shot of his cargobike).
Still tired, but feeling less like we'd been trampled by elephants after cruising round on the bikes. But a little down that Sunday was to be our last day...
