The Queen was not at home!

Cycled from Vauxhall via Westminster, Horseguards and the Mall. No tourists outside Buckingham Palace at 9.30am this morning, so different to any previous time I have been there. There were more police than other people. Lots of police minibuses around Westminster ( over 20) ready for demonstrations I suppose. Also as usual two guards doing their sentry duty outside the palace and several armed police too. Apparently the Queen is unlikely to return to live in Buckingham Palace after her Scottish holiday but will return to Windsor Castle and live in her ‘bubble’ there for the foreseeable future until the Covid pandemic abates.
The extra is the Victoria Memorial just outside Buckingham Palace.

Hyde Park very busy and the roads in West London had much more traffic than two weeks ago.
