THAT SQUAWKWARD AGE
An adolescent blackbird still waiting to turn into a glossy handsome adult. It may be this one, if not then quite possibly from the same brood since the hedge was full of them back in the spring. This hedge is strategically located above a large and inaccessible (to humans) bramble patch, so there are masses of blackberries on which they can feast and grow plump.
