In the neighbourhood

One of the houses in our neighbourhood has been painted in a dark blue-ish grey colour while we were away on our summer holiday.
Those grey and even almost black colours have been getting more and more popular here in Akureyri in the last few years.  Seems like I'm a part of a minority group of people who think those are just awful colours for houses in Iceland where it is dark and gloomy for many months every year. 
The yellow house to the left is, in my opinion, a beautiful example of a building which has been restored with original period features and painted in a colour which fits well with those sveitser-style houses in Innbærinn here in Akureyri.
