2020 Friday — Listening for the Sizzle

The first weekend of September is arriving and it includes a holiday. It is also going to include some record high temperatures.

Late in the afternoon we took the pups to walk in Tidelands Park and as we walked we met a couple who are our age from Paseo Robles and enjoyed some friendly conversation with them about the local area and about being educators.

After our walk the two of us stopped at Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant for a delicious and reasonably priced dinner. While we were there we met a very nice young man who was eating alone, and very friendly, whose name is Colton. He told us he works at Spencer’s Grocery Store. He wanted to know if we were tourist. Conversing with him was quite pleasant. He told us he had graduated from Morro Bay High School in 2018.

On our way back to Cayucos, we stopped to watch as the sun descended. We also could see Point Cayucos and further out, looking a little ghost-like, Point Estero. It was a very quiet and meaningful moment.
