Brambles by the Water of Leith

Cycling home this afternoon, my mobile rang. It was my brother calling from Malaysia. Couldn't cycle and talk. Had stopped by these brambles. Picked a few while talking to him on the phone. We talked for a good half hour.

Having cycled to and from work, my daughter and I then walked 8 miles to practice for our half kilt walk next Sunday. Next week is 12 miles. Not done any other training. Will hope for the best. She and I gathered a small tub of brambles on our walk too.

My husband brought an abundance of tomatoes from the allotment. Manna from heaven when sprinkled with salt and eaten straight away. Want tomatoes like that as my last meal.
