The new (ish)Trans Canada Highway bridge across the Nipigon River.
Someone forgot that the bolts holding it down would expand and contract in the northern weather, turning into a lift bridge. The highway was shut down for 2 years.
The solution? Massive weights on either end to keep it in place.
