This picture from 1925 shows Lorna (aged 11) and her mother Topsie in the garden of the family house in Sheffield.

Sheffield was Lorna's fourth (and final) childhood home after Bristol, Stirling, and Ilford. She moved from Sheffield to Cambridge (to study English) after she left school.
