Hoverfly Haven

It's suddenly become quite hot again (27C), but it won't last, which is good! Sitting outside reading, I noticed this sweet little hoverfly settled on the centre of one of my pink geraniums.

Yesterday early evening was so beautiful that we went down to the lake and lingered awhile. It was too early for the sunset, but I suddenly had the idea of taking a boat going anywhere!  The steamboats with meals were all booked up, but we caught the ferry to Evian and crossed the lake in 30 minutes and had a delicious meal at one of the lakeside restaurants. We chose grilled salmon with a pink peppercorn sauce and risotto with a delicious glass of Italian Primitivo red wine. We're taking advantage of all these lovely sunny days because we don't know when they will end.
