But, then again . . . . .

Lothian Street.

So, what happened today? Walked the dogs, usual route was blocked as the ranger service are removing alien species such as sycamore trees to be replaced with natives. I've always said that you have to live in Roslin for three generations before you lose the "incomer" tag; sycamores were brought into Britain by the Romans so they've only been here a few thousand years, they obviously need to be residents for a little longer.

This afternoon I made a trip into Embra for a U3A meeting at the National Library, it was while walking from the bus stop that I spotted this view in Lothian Street at the back of the museum. I liked the contra-jour effect, so hid in a shadow to shield the lens and waited for these two young ladies to appear. The high contrast meant I wanted to shoot in RAW format, the camera takes about four seconds to write the file in this mode so there was only a chance for one shot or I'd have wait for the next suitable group of passers-by to appear.

We had a nice talk about the library followed by a guided tour which included the locker room(?) honestly, there was a perfectly logical explanation. Mrs TD, who doubles as a tour guide at Rosslyn Chapel wanted to know how to find copies of letters written by Mary of Guise to the Earl of Rosslyn, material she wants to augment her talks; she's very conscientious is Mrs TD. The answer turned out to be to email the enquiries department; in this house-hold our specialist subject is not "the bleedin' obvious".

Postscript: Posted this late at night, the cold light of morning showed that I'd lost what I was looking for in the picture so have reposted it.
