Leighton Hall

One of the jewels of the Arnside/Silverdale AONB
There is evidence of a Manor House on this site going back to the year 1246.

Since then there have 26 owners of the property and only twice has it changed hands by being sold.

Over the centuries the house has been restyled and extended. The present layout of the surrounding parkland goes back to 1763.

For 200 years from the early 19th. Century the house was in the hands of the famous Gillow family, well known as manufacturers of high quality furniture.

The house and grounds have recently reopened post Covid. Just open on Thursday and Sunday afternoons and you have to book in advance.
