Dunny Lane

Sydney’s inner suburbs still have dunny lanes, harking back to the days of backyard toilets and night soil men. They make interesting shortcuts for pedestrians. I like the contrasting building materials, the glimpses of outhouses and the trailing flowers and vines. After this afternoon’s rain the scent of jasmine was overpowering.
