Edwardian Tea Room
It was miserably wet today; it was definitely a day for indoor activity. In the afternoon we decided to go to the "Revealed: Government Art Collection" exhibition at Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery. It's a free exhibition of a collection of nearly 200 works that form part of the Government Art Collection.
I enjoyed it very much. My favourite was the famous painting of Byron by Thomas Phillips. The 17th century painting of Richard III by an unknown artist was nicely topical. I even liked some of the modern paintings.
On leaving the exhibition we couldn't resist the museum's splendid Edwardian Tea Room for a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
