Rodents rule

Look around

It was cold in the flat today and I almost didn’t head out for a lunchtime walk. I’m glad I did, though, as it’s good to break up the working day with a change of scene. The temperature was a lot warmer outside, too, so I warmed up after getting a chill behind the computer.

There’s a primary school on my road and it was lovely to hear and see the kids playing. It’s been months since I last heard that sound!

My walk took me to the cemetery where I caught a glimpse of a green woodpecker in flight. There were the telltale signs of a deceased pigeon in a circle of scattered feathers - a sparrowhawk, most probably, although it could have been a peregrine.

The evening perambulation was in the rain to Norwood Park through West Dulwich. We said hello to a lovely cat perched on a post. On our return we spied our cat crossing the road, which is something we fear as the cars fare speed down there (even though our borough has a 20mph limit, but don’t get me started on that). Still, I’m going to try not to worry over something I can’t control. Juno does spend most of his time on the “home” side of the road. I can only think that he’s in territorial dispute with one of the cats from the other side.
