The commando memorial, Lochaber

Headed towards Loch Ness today, as the forecast was better there than anywhere else in the vicinity. Passing the Commando memorial, with Ben Nevis in the background took me back to my youth - I remembered visiting it with my Mum and Dad when I was about 16. Was good to remember them. 

When we reached Urquhart Castle we were turned away even from the car park as they will only take pre-booked ticket holders. Such a shame, as I was looking to visit Nessie!

Still had a great day, and we managed a  walk over some hills in the Abriachan district (extra) just off the shores of Loch Ness.
