wild & precious life

September changes

Today was my first afternoon back in a building with my colleague for the side of work that I do in Durham for a regional & national charity.
We were both still conducting our work remotely but it was amazing to see my friend in the flesh. She & I have not taken to working from home in the way that other colleagues seemingly have, so we have decided to do this every Wednesday for the foreseeable future so we can have real contact with each other (whilst still not getting too close!) & begin to separate work from home a little! We would normally work together at the University but this is still not possible so we are using an alternative venue.

She had laid out a lunch for us both (sandwiches, salads & muffins) and also brought me roses and chocolates for my birthday. I felt very loved. We both would have loved to have a hug too. Things are returning but still far from 'normal'.

On the evening, I attended spinning with an instructor who I admire greatly and who hasn't been back since lockdown. She was amazing as always with her inspirational words, imagery and Maya Angelou poetry and she worked us VERY hard. It was pouring down on the marquee which created a different atmosphere!

Just like moons and like suns,

With the certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing high,

Still I'll rise.
