Most Disliked Bird?

This juvenile Herring Gull strolled around the boat landing with his head down. Dejected. He looked so sad. Was he deep in thought? My guess? He’s devastated by the news he’s on the World’s Most Disliked Bird List. In fact, his kind tops that list, per the Daily Mail, 2014. This is certainly a heavy burden for any bird to bear.

1. Seagulls - thugs, noisy, messy
2. Pigeons - noisy, messy
3. Magpies - thieves
4. Ravens/Crows - scary

Since this is my blip, I’m adding another:

5. Starlings - congregate in large groups, eat all the suet and scare the songbirds away.

Ironically, what all of these most disliked birds have in common is US, human beings. We are the ones intruding and invading their territory. How can we blame them for taking free food?

In case you’re wondering, the most beloved bird in North America is...the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird! No surprise, right? From my short time on Blip, it seems to be one of the most blipped birds. PS - we saw a hummer today!
