Drowning in Plastic
I turned a corner in Bethnal Green this morning and came upon a wall being graffiti painted . The artist was carefully spraying through a stencil creating an image for Clipper tea bags - you may be familiar with the logo.
The PR looking on was filming it on her phone and a camera crew were up above on a nearby balcony. So I barged in and asked her what was going on. She explained that they were about to stencil up the message that the tea bags are plastic free. Apparently they were due to get a mention on BBC about the world drowning in plastic. Clipper comes out quite well on this measure.
The PR obliged by displaying a box of the tea while remaining anonymous herself. I wonder how long before it is obliterated. Perhaps they aren't bothered.
Then this evening a brilliant presentation by Jim Grover about photo journalism and story telling. We are embarking on a story telling challenge and it bodes well with Jim's introduction tonight.
