This Old House
A grey and gloomy
day may not be the best choice
for roofing the house!

This old house was the family home of my late husband. He was born to this house in 1946. It housed three boys growing up and also served as the office for our family business for many years. It is no "silk purse". It was cobbled together from two smaller buildings and was what a working family could afford in the days following WW2. The third generation now occupies it and the business goes on with them.
We were in the que to have the house re-shingled last year. We waited patiently for the call to say the rooofers were coming in, but it never came. We discovered, to our great surprise, that the roofing company had been sold. Somehow our name on the list was lost in the shuffle. We crossed our fingers for months hoping we could get this job done before the roof started leaking. This spring we went at it again to get a quote and a roofer to engage.
Today is our lucky day. The roofers have arrived! The weather report shows no precipitation in the forecast. We are crossing our fingers again.
