Optimo - Liquid Liquid
I was certain I must have done this track in one of the previous music blips but it appears not. We were at Optimo by about quarter to twelve last night. Unfortunately, due to the clocks changing, we only got a bit over two hours in the club. It was a brilliant night all the same, we met up with an old friend Mike the Skater who hadn't been out clubbing in years and years, plus there were other mates out with us.
As you can probably tell from the photo there was a live band on too. It was a Glasgow band called Divorce who were really good. The singer was quite intense too. Early on she jumped off the stage and started singing in amongst the crowd. Sadly they were on quite early due to the clock's changing so they didn't have the largest audience. Still it gave the singer the chance to roll about the floor whilst singing which was entertaining.
After the band there was about an hour an a half of solid dancing spoiled only slightly by a po-faced group of girls who despite standing right at the froont of the dancefloor seemed to get annoyed whenever anyone danced near them. I'm guessing they weren't too happy when the last three songs (Angel of Death by Slayer, the Slits' cover of HEard it through the grapevine and Louis Louis by the Kingsmen) resulted in a bit of a mosh pit down at the front.
Anyway, here's the song that inspired the name of the club by the fantastic Liquid Liquid.
Oh and I've back-blipped from Friday now if you fancy a look.
Edit: Can't believe I almost forgot to mention that I bumped into LL Cool Jim at Optimo. He was promising that he'll be back blipping after a long absence at some point but he's just been really busy.
