It was a chilly first day of spring for many in the South Island as temperatures plummeted and widespread snow blanketed many southern centres.

 The Top of the South Island is warm in comparison, but a day of mixed weather conditions all the same.

After the summery days of last week this is quite a shock, but not totally unexpected.



Thank you for the comments and stars for yesterday’s blip. It is smoke and not dust seen in the distance.
