You say you've got a stiff neck?
I'm afraid this is a bit of a quick-blip. I'm tuckered out and this cardinal was considerate enough to pose for just long enough to snap a few pictures. And he seemed to be stretching his neck, just for me! I also got off a few quick shots of a House Sparrow, only the second one I've ever seen at my feeders. Many people dislike House Sparrows because they have displaced some of our native species. But, I contend that this is not the fault of the bird - it is the fault of humans who introduced them to a non-native area. Similar to what has happened with Gray Squirrels in the UK displacing the native Red Squirrels.
Had a visit with the spine specialist this morning who confirmed that I've got 5 compressed discs in my neck. This explains the pain in my arm as the nerve that travels down my left arm is being squished (not the proper medical term, but suits the feeling.) Also explains the pain in my neck/shoulder. Good news is that the first course of treatment (and one that the surgeon says is effective in 90% of cases) is Physical Therapy. And, even better news - I was able to get an appointment with a therapist tonight for the initial consult. I am anxious to get started. The surgeon has prescribed 6 weeks of thrice weekly PT so the sooner I get started, the sooner I will feel better.
In the meantime, I have to limit my time at the computer. So bear with me for the next few weeks - my commenting will be minimal. However, I am cleared to use the camera on the monopod as much as I like (yay!)
Hope you are all having a great Monday! And, hey, only 3 more days until Valentine's Day!
