Ripe plums

These took me by surprise today! I looked towards the orchard area of the garden and saw lots of red fruit. However, I decided to save the treat of picking them until later in the afternoon, as a reward for doing a bit of gardening. Weeding the crescent bed was a good workout, bending and stretching for a couple of hours. I might just feel the after-effects tomorrow. By 6.00pm it was time to approach the Victoria Plum tree...... and I found over 700 grams of edible windfalls and picked another 600 grams from the tree. And they are beautiful! So sweet and juicy, and there are lots more to ripen yet.
