Head gardener and another feast
It was Sam and Alan's last day in Edinburgh today. This morning they walked up to town to take in some of the tourist sites. Meanwhile Mr hazelh and I prepared a late Sunday lunch, and the Head Gardner (Paddy) and his Assistant (Caitlin) mixed concrete to secure the slabs for the (new) raised beds in our back garden (see the extra).
The workers were first to the table (blipped) to share a long lunch break with us. On the menu were roast chicken with lemon butter stuffing, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, mixed vegetables with halloumi cheese, croustillants de ratatouille, and apple and bramble crumble with cream. This is slightly more than our usual Sunday fare with Paddy and Caitlin!
First to leave were Sam and Alan: they set off for their journey south at 3:30pm. The workers returned to their flat up the road just before 6pm.
Home alone once more, Mr hazelh and I collapsed on the sofa for the rest of the evening. We watched El camino, recommended to us by Sam and Alan. This film is an epilogue to Breaking bad, which we watched while I was undergoing cancer treatment in 2018. We enjoyed catching up with some of the characters from the series, especially Jesse.
Exercise today: none.
