Fire in a high wind

Travelling through the Mackenzie Country is one of my favourite road trips, but today was something quite different. There was a fire involving 3,000 hectares near Lake Pukaki, 17 firefighting helicopters and a high wind.  The Ben Ohau Range is in the background.


Some helicopters are in extras, bravely collecting water from Lake Pukaki.
