Wind In the Poplars
The starling can barely make himself heard with the wind in the bare poplars roaring like a storm on a stoney beach. For the best part of three days and two nights the turbulence has been loud, but warm. The overnight temperatures have been on a par with daytime highs for this time of year. Tomorrow is officially the first day of spring, when the Met Service warns we will be returning to winter.
I’ve enjoyed the warm weather. For three nights I have not needed to light the fire.
