Train spotting
We’ve moved about an hour West to Mount Surprise. It’s a tiny town with a pub, a servo, a cafe, a police station, a caravan park and a handful of houses.
The folks got me a job looking after the lady in the office at the caravan park tomorrow morning. While I’m working they’re going to keep themselves busy by going to see the lava tubes of an extinct volcano.
There’s a train comes through town on a Thursday - the ‘Savannalander’. It’s a four day tourist trip on an otherwise abandoned rail route. The rail line runs right past the van park and the tourists hop off to spend a night here.
We walked a little way down the tracks today. Just to the bridge over the creek.
Saw some ‘Black Cockatoos’. They’re big!
Had a swim in the creek and walked back. After that I decided to call it a day and take a nap!
