MEDIEVAL LABYRINTH

This MEDIEVAL LABYRINTH is made of grass, with  the 6 circuits made of  flagstone.  It is located behind the Samuelson Chapel, on the grounds
of a small Lutheran university, not too far from where we live.

It was constructed in 2012 when the faculty decided to change the
daily chapel service to a "Sabbath Hour," to encourage students & faculty to take time for spiritual rest & reflection.  This is offered regardless of spiritual background.  The MEDIEVAL LABYRINTH was built for walking contemplation.  Prayer mats, cushions & sacred texts are available in the chapel, which is open all day.

The LABYRINTH is surrounded by trees which gives it a peaceful, private
feeling.  Walking on grass, through the labyrinth, makes for a soft sensory
experience.  Someone planted light pink lilies beneath the trees, which
is a lovely touch.

In front of the chapel there is a rose garden & a wonderful obelisk
(SEE EXTRA) with the words "MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH in many languages.   I include my favorite rose from the garden,  in the EXTRAS.

This would be a great place to visit every day.
